We ate the top slice of our wedding cake at the nameing ("christening") of our first child.
That's 4 1/2 years, no refrigeration , just kept in a tin in a dry cupboard.
(old school fruit cake, loaded with alcohol )

(may not have been the top slice as the rest were chocolate and not strong enough to support the weight )
