No, you just have to leave it at home.
Firearms quals for police are a joke, in most jurisdictions. There *are* some cops who train carefully...but so do many private gun owners. I shoot my carry sidearm once a month--*much* more than most cops.

In addition to being an unsupported assertion, that's simply not true. The available statistics tell an exactly opposite story.
