I used mine tonight to smooth-out my butternut squash after roasting, but I mostly use it for soup. Black bean is my daughter's favorite and I do a super-simple version that takes no time;
Mirepoix + garlic, shallots if I have any, red pepper flakes, and olive oil in the bottom of the soup pot on med until the carrots aren't hard. Add 3 cans of black beans 1 big can of whole tomatoes and blend until smooth. Add another can of black beans and 1-2 boxes of chicken stock depending on how thick you like it. Salt, pepper, etc... Could be topped with sour cream, fresh cilantro, bacon etc...
