i used to enjoy shopping at walmart. i still shop there for a few reasons... one, they are open later than target, and two, they have some good cheap stuff.

however, if given a choice, i would pick target over walmart any day. at target (and note i am referring to the ones near us, this might not be true in your area):

1. you don't have to wade through a puddle of piss and shit to use the bathroom
2. you have some chance of finding a sales associate who speaks enough english to help you
3. if shopping within the last hour and a half, you don't have to fear that you are going to be plowed over by a guy pushing a big floor buffer
4. they have more than three check-out lanes open on a saturday afternoon
5. their shopping carts dont have wheels with large chunks taken out of them which makes for a very awkward and loud shopping experience
6. you have less of a chance of having a group of middle-aged women pushing carts and then abruptly stopping in front of you and blocking you from moving anywhere.
7. their security system works (our wal mart's theft prevention things at the exit go off for everyone and the person guarding the exit just lets everyone go through, why bother?)

i am willing to pay a little more in order to save my sanity. i have come out of wal mart ready to kill too many times.
