You buy it on the sly and give it to an old man. Then when he leaves it to you in his will, tell her the old man was a dear friend and you couldn't bear to part with it. Once it's ensconced in the garage you wait for the right time to get her to let you ride it, like after you've given her a 3 carat diamond.
