Smallpox is pretty much eradicated in Europe.

Horrible for her, but probably best to get it out of the way so young.

She's lucky to have Mum, Grandma and Great Grandma.
My neice is 15 now and still has Great Grandad (not sure on the other side, I don't think so though). I think it's lovely that children get to interact with the older generation more now that people are living longer.

Then again, in the past families all lived together, so the time they had was more intense.

Tess is so gorgeous. I love seeing her grow up. And reading about your lives on the Continent - so near and yet so different.

So is she in school? Part time? Full time?
Here she would be starting in Year 1 in September, having had an (optional) couple of months in Reception, following her birthday.
