I guess the Marines would make me feel safer from the occasional crazy who wanders in. I had a job once where they had security guards who were all ex-military. At the time, I had my very own stalker who called one night and threatened to kill me and my best friend at work. I informed security of this and they went into high alert, and I felt much safer.

On the other hand, the damn terrorists are so clever, probably one of them would manage to get hired as security and another would be the janitor who set off his very own home made bomb in the basement. I dunno. Maybe I'm too paranoid.

Naturally, the Bates Motel where I now work has no security, and I feel very uneasy when I'm there alone after dark. The front office is a brightly lit fishbowl at night and anyone passing on the street can see I'm there alone. I usually have around $2,000.00 or more in my cash drawer, and that's beaucoup bucks to many of the characters around here.
