I've been really having fun with some of my editing software. I mainly use Adobe Lightroom for initial non destructive editing. But I recently got some new programs. One is by OnOne Software called Perfect Effects 8 and the other is by Topaz and called Simplify.
So I took this portrait my wife took of me awhile back as we waited to board a plane. You can see we were at gate B1 in some terminal. Anyway, the metadata says it was taken at 1/15 of a second so I am surprised it had any sharpness. But my wife likes the shot and asked me to make it into a portrait for her to have. I used Lightroom to turn it to B&W and played with some masking and vignetting to get the background to go down to black and did some burning and dodging just like in the darkroom days. I saved a few versions. Then I took it into the Simplify program which has all kinds of artistic effects like watercolors, painting and pencil sketching filters. So here is that version.
I kind of think it has a Karsh like feel to it. I think I am in my Hemmingway phase of life.
