I took 5 years of the language in high school, and I *might* be able to have a very slow and very simplistic conversation. :p

Moi aussi! I've been that way ever since I can remember. My Dad took French when he was in college, and I used to browse through his old French books as a kid. Had no idea what I was saying, but it just sounded good! And I used to watch "The French Chef" and I thought that Julia Child was actually French! (she was born in California). But the food that she cooked...mmhm! It all looked incredibly wonderful (and fattening...all that cream and butter!).

I used to dream of going to France (or to Europe), but in today's travel and political climate, I don't know if it's such a good idea anymore. Plus, I'd have to haul my dialysis machine and supplies along, and that's no fun, even for short trips.
