I was trying to imagine why anyone would bother adding eye reflections, but maybe it's precisely because studio lighting gives a weird, unnatural eye reflection? Enough to make people feel "off" about it, but not be able to explain why?
On one of Stephen Colbert's book covers, the eye reflections were tiny, almost imperceptible eagles. I always thought it was strange, that someone would decide to make the effort to put that little detail in there, but if it were already standard practice to fix the eye reflections, so you knew you were going to have to choose
something...
