That ol' Double Dog strikes again!
This is a challenge thread. To make or respond to challenges. So,
I dare you . . . to go to your favorite restaurant and order something you've never eaten before off the menu. Anyone who wants to take me up on this dare can respond here (i.e., what did you eat, and was it awful?)

Well obviously it might be a while before you get any meaningful responses to this thread huh?

That's okay, you don't have to take my dare. Make your own.

Going to a Chinese restaurant today with co-workers. Having the Kung Pao fish. Never had it before.
And you REALLY don't want me to dare anyone to do anything! ;-)

Is this your favorite restaurant, the one where you know the menu by heart, and always order the same 1 or 2 items? Just a random restaurant won't do.
bwaack!

It's in Los Angeles and it's called The Stinking Rose. They don't have anything on the menu I haven't tried.

This is not a dare- this would be my pleasure. What's the risk? I don't understand. If it is someone's favorite restaraunt all the food is probably awesome? (to them) Hey Cloud- I dare you to scratch your behind while people are looking at it...at a coffee counter...at the copier at work. The next time you get that uncomfortable feeling and you know your butt has an audience...scratch scratch...You know (sometimes) when people are looking, even if you are faced the other direction...just give it a little scratch. Let's do real dares with photo evidence......

it's a pretty mild dare, to be sure, 'cause I'm a pretty mild person. The risk is you'll end up with something sucky and waste your time and money.
I'll think about your dare, Cicero. No pics though! Honor system, here.

I'm willing to attempt any dare which doesn't involve money
I'm currently pushing all my own boundaries in order to get a semblance of life back, so my ideas about what I can and can't do socially are blurred. Feel free to take advantage

okay. I dare you, SG, to write morning pages for at least one week. What are morning pages? Morning pages are 3 pages of handwritten stream-of-consciousness writing, based on "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. Conceived as a way to un-block writers, it's really designed as a brain dump for all the negative stuff we build up. It's a self-awareness and improvement tool.
Here's some more info about it: http://www.theartistsway.com/pdfs/basictools.pdf of course, I'm sure someone may have a more interesting dare--you know, something scatalogical, or sexual, which you might rather have. But take note that I dared you to do something positive, rather than just scratching your butt. (sticks up nose with smug superiority. After scratching her ass in front of her entire office.) To Cicero: Okay, I stood in front of the copy machine and overtly scratched my ass in front of my coworkers. No pics, but would you take an affidavit?

Ouch, right in the breadbasket.
I accept your dare. Starting Friday, but only because I have an early start tomorrow and hadn't factored this into my plans. BTW that pdf slowed my laptop to an almost complete stop. I read 8 pages before my frustration outweighed my interest - the only notebook I have is A4. Handwriting 3 pages of that is going to take a long time. Should I commit myself to that or is the author working with a smaller pad in mind?
