The New 007
Well, I'm hot. Daniel Craig, one of the most underrated Brit actors of our time, is going to SMOKE as Bond, James Bond. Oh, honey. I just saw the latest trailer and ....ooooo. Only complaint, and it's minor, is this: why not dark hair? He dyed it for "Sylvia" (as Ted Hughes) and I wonder why he doesn't here? No matter, really, as Daniel is one total hott 007. M-MM!

The Bond franchise has run its course. Same schtick, different location, product placement galore. the notion of the super-hero who can shoot with deadly accuracy while rolling on the ground to evade a hail of machine-gun fire and still have a freshly-pressed shirt and tidy hair in the next closeup is sooooo 20th century. Connery is the one true bond and Moore is his protege. all of the rest have been scene fillers for the stunt directors.

billybob is correct. thread over.
Except, the novels have always been far cooler than the movies. They're grittier, and almost always end with Bond in the hospital. Casino Royale (book form) has Le Chiffre hitting Bond's balls with a piece of cane to get information out of him, followed by another SMERSH agent killing Le Chiffre and carving the "company logo" into Bond's hand with a knife. I somehow suspect that won't make it onto celluloid. However, if Craig can bring some of the magic of the novels onto the screen, I'll gladly put him on a Connery-like pedestal.

No one I mean no one could ever, ever to Sean Connery, he IS 007, yes ok just a incy wincey bit of a fan but he is just one of the few men who just get better and better with age just like fine wine.
PS all men are just like fine wine, it takes a lot of stomping and many many years of maturing before the are some thing acceptable to have dinner with. ![]()

bond is all about the gadgets too! some of them make sense and some of them are so far out that people still try and make them work. and it gives a chance for female and male actors to be "awarded" a lead role in a bond film. its like a prestigious honour to be approached for a "bond girl" or bond himself
