Secondary sexual characteristics -- e.g., boobs, shaving -- not all the way in yet, so androgyny is what you see. Curves are getting suppressed as the long bones lengthen during the growth spurt, not to return for a couple of years. That and the younger ones, up to seventh grade, look all dewy and fresh because the zits haven't gotten them yet, either.
It was enjoyable, in the main, but I can't think of anything funny to say about it either.
