My dog-nephew...

Rest in Peace, Zeke old boy.

Zeke was my younger brother's Golden Retriever. He had been with Mike for a long time, and was a member of our family. Zeke was great with my nieces; a couple months ago the 1 1/2 year old plopped across him as he relaxed on the living room floor. She fell instantly asleep and he just laid there and let her. He was smart, too.

Zeke was diagnosed with cancer and passed away peacefully at home this morning with his family around him.

I'll miss him terribly, as will my entire family.

Thank you, Spexx.

This is a recent picture of the girls and Zeke. It's an online proof so I don't know if it will work, but rest assured that everyone in my family has bought at least 1 copy.

Sorry about your loss. We have 4 dogs and they are part of our family as well. It is like losing a loved one, sort of anyway.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I know to some people, it seems silly (you know...just a dog, etc) but we all loved him a bunch! So giving, and loyal, with no ulterior motives. I think he spoke English, too.

Those of you who have loved pets know how it feels.

You are all very sweet!

I'm so sorry. And nothing and nobody we love is "just a" anything.
He was very lucky to have been in your family and your family was lucky as well.

Golden Retrievers are great dogs. Zeke looked pretty cool. Sorry for you that he's gone.
