The Fist Fight Poll
Tell us about the last fight you got in....or a memorable one. These kind of stories are always so telling. Why did you fight? Did you win? What did it cost you? Would you do it again?

my last actual fight was on my 12th birthday. since then, I've been either too big, or too reasonable for people to swing at.
Watching Fight Club made me want to brawl a little. And I'd play tackle football tomorrow if I could.....but at 37 yrs old I don't like falling down all that much anymore.

Over 10 yrs for me.
We were drunk, at a nite club, the chick was a slapper who threw a punch at my boyfriend at the time, and he wouldnt retaliate ....so I did. I've also decked a guy who keyed my car and another who was drunk and tormenting a cat. Im such a lady. |

I have only ever had minor scuffles with my siblings.
But I have fights in my dreams all the time. Really violent ones where I worry I am about to kill someone - usually at the point where I am slamming their head repeatedly against the floor. Perhaps I should have had more real fights.

I'm not the type who tries to pick up fights, but once by accident 6-7 years ago I was in one. Wasn't much of a fight, more me and a friend being beaten up by a kid on speed or something. I learned the valuable lesson that unless you're prepared to kill and maim, don't try to break up a fight.

After age 14 I declared an allergy to physical violence. I will never use force to achieve political or social goals.

About 3 1/2 to 4 years? I didn't start it but I finally won. It was a situation where I wouldn't have gotten anywhere calling the police or filing charges (lack of real tangible evidence). I also decided to let the punishment suit the crime. It was self-empowering...good stuff. I wonder why people never get the moral to the story regarding Fight Club? I had an ex that had the same response, and I know these guys are reading or watching to the end... :p

Is it a fight, if you just knock them out?

It was a couple months ago and I wrote about it somewhere else in the cellar. Drunk domestic abuser giving me and lil lookout shit at the soccer club. Beat the piss out of him in my knee jerk reactionary way. Not the proudest moment.
Before that, 2000. Coming out of a bar after a Phoenix Sun's game I witnessed a jackoff run his key from bumper to bumper on my new truck. Was still punching him in the face when the cops got there and congratulated me on my citizen's arrest. Before that, the 12th grade. Beat the crap out of my best friend in front of the principal's office. He slapped his girlfriend in the face again after I scolded him for slapping her. I left him in a sobbing heap and went directly to the principal's office where they just laughed as they gave me my detention.
