Being Human
Being Human is a new Drama (comedy-drama) from the BBC. Made in conjunction with BBC America, so it may already have been shown over there?
Anyway. It just finished it's initial run, with a six episode series. It's been a major hit and was shown to much acclaim. I watched the original pilot about 8 months back, it was part of a series of one offs showcasing new talent. This was the one that got picked up and made into a series (along with a major recast, only the werewolf is the same). I'm so glad it did, it's wonderful. Very quirky, very engaging. Basic set-up is: 3 housemates, a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost. In Bristol. Here's a clip: its the first 8 minutes of episode 1. I love this show, well worth giving it a go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFwpvrQsoF4 |

Hmmmmmm
I watched two eps. Wasn't convinced. Dads watched them with me (partly because I was SO excited by the trailers and Heat's recommendation) He wasn't convinced either. For me, there was just something a little .... clunky about it. ITV is doing better ino recently. Well, okay, not that recently. With Benidorm (1&2) and No Heroes ( a suggestion I bless you for)

why does a ghost need a roommate?
I'd be interested in seeing it--will check out BBC america for it, but it usually takes a year or two for such things to swim across the ocean.

She's haunting the place they move into. Which is why it's so cheap (apparently). I tried an property search on ghostly housemates in cheap accomodation. No luck, sadly.
It's not awful (back to the series). Just didn't click for me.

I think the first episode was very clunky. Having kept some plot elements from the pilot and ditched some others, the first half of episode one had the job of plugging the gaps and explaining the past. Consequently some of the dialogue in particular was a little mechanistic. I think the series really finds its feet in episode 3. It's worth watching the first two with a forgiving eye, because they lead into a lovely story arc.
I think by episode 3 they know what the programme is. It is more comfortable in its own skin. |

Shoot - I wrote No Heroes... meaning No Heroics.
I'd pay to see Timebomb with another man. Inc Fusebox (ouch!) Meh, maybe I just like man on man. Oh - here they are in Spanish, if you like that sorta thing. Deja vu - I did this before didn't I? Maybe it's my superpower...
