In your spare Googling time...

I need a very small plastic container with a lid that is no more than 1 and 3/4 inches tall. Like these... but a quarter-inch shorter. Please know that I would not consult the holy oracle of Cellar Googling without necessity; this has been vexing me for quite some time.

I've got nine of them, with lids. Do you want them sent over?

Have you checked the containers that lunch meat comes in now?

When I order takeout lemon chicken from any Chinese place, it comes with the lemon sauce in a round plastic container that's about an inch and a half tall and maybe 6 inches in diameter.

It's got a different look than the Glad brand containers, but it holds a liquid well. Looks kind of like a soft margarine tub.

Aren't the plastic cases that 35mm camera film is stored in about that size?
I googled that. Most of them are black, but some clear ones exist too.

What about these? First hit on Amazon for 'plastic containers.'

Sorry, I didn't specify, but this is to fit inside a lunchbox, so I'm looking for about 2 inches in diameter. Film canisters and bead boxes are too small, unfortunately.

Glatt's UK link is exactly right... though 300 of them for $27.40 plus overseas shipping is excessive. But! This has made me realize what I need to do. I just need to go to Chipotle and order a couple sides of salsa, then wash the containers out and re-use them. Sometimes the answer is so obvious I can't see it. Hooray!

Or, place an order and ask for a stack of new ones with lids, pretty please. save yourself the washing.

They probably would slide you a few of them. A good server would be like "Oh sure" and of course the tip would reflect that generosity.

If it's one of those places that makes the bartender measure out shots (or worse, has a machine that does it...) the employees might not be able to do that but I would think just about anywhere I've worked if someone asked me I'd certainly slip a few into their 'doggie box.'
