Good, it's about time she made an honest man out of you.
You know how lucky you are to have found her.

There are plenty of instructional videos on the net, but where to do it is a huge problem.
Hey, that can wait if necessary, the getting hitched is the best part.
Well that and the happily ever after.

I want to come and wave from a distance like a street urchin peering in through the window of the Baker's shop.......

That's in the running....

Thanks y'all! Some day we'll have a regular party and get some locals to come....

Seems like everything you hear begins with, "in these unprecedented times... or uncertain times..... "

All times are unprecedented. All times are uncertain. Always have been. It's the only real constant.

Might could set up a Zoom on a tablet or my chrome book, and set it where those interested could observe the actual ceremony live....

Yeah... I think I may do that.

Also, back stairs are 95% done.

They had shitty carpet on them when we moved in. Carpet deleted, we had issues.

100 yr old heart pine:

10 year old home depot pine.

Big difference in color and grain.

Fixed that shit

nice, but you're only supposed to carry her over the threshold, not up the stairs!

I filled the gaps in the landing with wedges of 1 yr old home depot pine (at Amanda's suggestion{or so she claims, at least} ), and chiseled and sanded... Then I stained the new wood with dark Trans Tint dye and water, cured. Then I sanded that back. That left the hard grain dark and the soft grain light. Then, fire.

I torched the hard grain, and lightly sanded that back. A coat of old antique maple Trans Tint and some mixing of the amber to level the color... I gave the older wood 2 coats of the maple and a jot of amber..... Got them close enough to not be noticeably different.

Then 2 coats of triple thick poly, steel wool satin finish.
We're pleased with the result.

Oh yeah. And we painted. Amanda did the risers and side trim, and removed the railing. I sanded and painted them, and cut and sized and shaped and painted the 27 little side moldings... I just have to nail the trim down, and Amanda will clean up the little bleed throughs of paint on the steps.

That's the other 5%
