Screamin' Jay Hawkings
Feast Of The Mau Maus

Live 1969
-----------------------
OUH OUHH
WOAH! HOAHH
WOAWOAH!!
Cut the fat off the back of a baboon
Boil it down to a pound in a spoon
Scoop the eyes from a fly flying backwards
Take the jaws and the paws off a 'coon
Take your time, ain't life for good cookin'
'Cause the rest of this mess ain't good lookin'
Take the fleas from the knees of a demon
Tell your pals "the gals will come screamin"
To the feast with the beast of the Mau Maus
They make wine from the spine of a bulldog
It's a test for the best for who stays
And the feast with the beast of the Mau Maus
Brush your teeth with a piece of a goose toenail
After death still a breath from a drunk in jail
Pull the skin off your friend with a razor blade
And tonight change tomorrow bring back yesterday
Shake your hip, bite your lip, shoot your mother-in-law
Put on your gorilla suit, drink some elbow soup and have a ball
Get it straight, don't be late, it's time for mad fun
Feast of the Mau Maus has begun - HAW!
At the feast with the beast of the Mau Maus
They make wine from the spine of their bulldogs
It's a test for the best for who stays
And a feast with the beast of the Mau Mau
And a feast with the beast of the Mau Mau
How they talk, man? They go like this
WADEE? HUMDEE MWLADEE
And how do the women talk?
OU UH! DEWAH! OU UH CACKLE
What you want when you wanta tell 'em
You want some more to eat, man?
Well how 'bout gimme some more of that meat there
And pass me some of the inside of that thigh
And spread some spread on it, you know
In between the toes, yeah, sock it to me there, ooh
Sure tastes good, man
Gimme some more of that inside soul, yeah
That, what you mean you ain't got no more soul?
You won't eat that, WAH
Feast of the Mau Mau
They make wine from the spine of their bulldogs
They stick their thumb in their eyeballs
And make peepin' olives
Yeah, that's what's happenin'
Reach into his chest and pull out his ribs, man
Let me bite on that cat's bone
Sock it to me one time
Evil, brother
EVIIIL!
Inside line, please
Can I have a fried ear?

Shriekback... Bastard Sons of Enoch

Cain decked the angel said "fuck you screw"
Shook the garden's dust from off his shoe
Then he walked in the desert a mile or two
He came to the plain where the medlars grew
And he sat down on the burning sand
Looked at the red on his brown right hand
And he spoke to the devil about his plans
Out to the east of Eden

Oh, the devil said "Cain, I think this will fly
I want this bastard deep and high
From the guts of the earth to the clean blue sky
Time to rape, scald, scar up and petrify"
So with shovel and pick they worked side by side
Till they ripped out a hole in the grandmother's side
And the city rose out of it bad and wide
Out to the east of Eden

ENOCH BEGAT URUK BEGAT NINEVEH BEGAT BABYLON BEGAT SODOM
BEGAT JERICHO BEGAT CAIRO BEGAT PORT SAID BEGAT [_________?]
BEGAT BANGKOK BEGAT SAIGON BEGAT VEGAS BEGAT HAMBURG
BEGAT NEW YORK CITY BEGAT MEGA CITY ONE BEGAT NEO TOKYO

That was all now so long ago
And down these mean streets now we all must go
All our fears have come true and no help to know
That only our thoughts have made them so
All the people are scared as they can be
Crying "don't try and come to close to me"
Now we all prefer and don't you agree
A mechanical kind of ecstacy

And the masters preen and their wives impress
And the witches burn and the slaves undress
And they all get fucked and paid and blessed
On the altars of their own success
And the numb and stupid and dumb and vain
Have their fatuous theories to explain
Why nobody any longer feels the pain
Down to the east of Eden

Wanna see the infernal city
Wanna see the ruined city
Wanna see the poisoned city
Wanna see the big bad city
Wanna see the lost city
Wanna see the dead city
Wanna see the ghost city
Wanna see the forbidden city

Ha...ha. I like it. Here's another one- the album itself is Sacred City, it's about (Gasp!) cities. The one below was written about London, but it could be about others... And of course it's pretentious. They're British.

(Open Up) Your Filthy Heart (To Me)

High above through veils of cloud I look on you again
You're beautiful as always in this light
About you shame and ignorance are clinging like a shroud
But I can't wait to be with you tonight

No angels walk beside you now
No heroes hold your hands
Your heart was broken but your mind's still free
And down below me you are waiting smiling like a ghost
Come open up your filthy heart to me

Into your arms so long ago in innocence and fear
I asked you for your dreams to make me wise
Like a priestess like a whore you took me by the hand
And showed me all your mysteries and lies

But everywhere I go there still are echoes of you now
Your golden streets that no one ever sees
And all I ask is one last time
Before my time has passed
Come open up your filthy heart to me

Mad dogs and millionaires have breathed upon your eyes
Their rituals are sordid and so bland
They whisper their banalaties
They fawn and patronise
How little all your suitors understand

They try to dress you up like someone younger and more free
Ridiculous they try to make you seem
When what you are is perfect and I need no more than this
Come open up your filthy heart to me

Story of my fuckin life.

AGENT ORANGE LYRICS

"Everything Turns Grey"

Things don't seem to be as easy
As they used to be
It's getting harder every day
To think of better things to say
About what's going on around you
And what's happening inside you
When it's time to change you won't know how
It won't matter years from now

No matter what you think or do or say
Everything turns grey

This is it, the darkest hour
Isn't it depressing how our
Minds create an atmosphere
That won't happen here
Unless we make some new demands
To grasp the future in our hands
You know I wish I could but it's too late
For senseless minds that love to hate

No matter what they think or do or say
Everything turns grey

No matter what they think or do or say
Everything turns grey

Heroin - The Velvet Underground

I don't know just where I'm going
But I'm gonna try for the kingdom, if I can
'Cause it makes me feel like I'm a man
When I put a spike into my vein
And I'll tell ya, things aren't quite the same
When I'm rushing on my run
And I feel just like Jesus' son
And I guess that I just don't know
And I guess that I just don't know

I have made the big decision
I'm gonna try to nullify my life
'Cause when the blood begins to flow
When it shoots up the dropper's neck
When I'm closing in on death
And you can't help me not, you guys
And all you sweet girls with all your sweet silly talk
You can all go take a walk
And I guess that I just don't know
And I guess that I just don't know

I wish that I was born a thousand years ago
I wish that I'd sail the darkened seas
On a great big clipper ship
Going from this land here to that
In a sailor's suit and cap
Away from the big city
Where a man can not be free
Of all of the evils of this town
And of himself, and those around
Oh, and I guess that I just don't know
Oh, and I guess that I just don't know

Heroin, be the death of me
Heroin, it's my wife and it's my life
Because a mainer to my vein
Leads to a center in my head
And then I'm better off than dead
Because when the smack begins to flow
I really don't care anymore
About all the Jim-Jim's in this town
And all the politicians makin' busy sounds
And everybody puttin' everybody else down
And all the dead bodies piled up in mounds

'Cause when the smack begins to flow
Then I really don't care anymore
Ah, when the heroin is in my blood
And that blood is in my head
Then thank God that I'm as good as dead
Then thank your God that I'm not aware
And thank God that I just don't care
And I guess I just don't know
And I guess I just don't know

Danzig - Thirteen

Bad luck wind been blowin' on my back
I was born to bring trouble wherever I'm at
With the number '13' tattooed on my neck
That ink starts to itch
Black gon' turn to red

I was born in the soul of misery
And I never had me a name
They just give me a number when I was young

Got a long line of heartache
I carry it well
The list of lives I've broken
Reach from here to Hell
And a bad luck wind been blowin' on my back
Pray you don't look at me
And I pray I don't look back

I was born in the soul of misery
And I never had me a name
They just give me a number when I was young

Found me with a preacherman confessin' all I done
Catch me with the devil playing 21
And a bad luck wind been blowin' on my back
I was born to bring trouble wherever I'm at

I was born in the soul of misery
And I never had me a name
They just give me a number when I was young
When I was young
When I was young
When I was young

Calling All Angels
Jane Siberry with K.D. Lang

Santa Maria, Santa Teresa, Santa Anna, Santa Susannah
Santa Cecilia, Santa Copelia, Santa Dominica, Mary Angelica
Frater Achad, Frater Pietro, Julianus, Petronella
Santa, Santos, Miroslaw, Vladimir
and all the rest

a man is placed upon the steps, a baby cries
and high above the church bells start to ring
and as the heaviness the body
oh the heaviness settles in
somewhere you can hear a mother sing

then it's one foot then the other
as you step out onto the road
how much weight? how much weight?
then it's how long? and how far?
and how many times before it's too late?

calling all angels
calling all angels
walk me through this world
don't leave me alone
calling all angels
calling all angels
we're cryin' and we're hurtin'
and we're not sure why...

and every day you gaze upon the sunset
with such love and intensity
why it's...it's almost as if
if you could only crack the code
then you'd finally understand what this all means

but if you could...do you think you would
trade it in
all the pain and suffering?
ah, but then you'd miss
the beauty of the light upon this earth
and the sweetness of the leaving

calling all angels
calling all angels
walk me through this one
don't leave me alone
callin' all angels
callin' all angels
we're tryin'
we're hopin'
we're hurtin'
we're lovin'
we're cryin'
we're callin'
'cause we're not sure how this goes

I unintentionally saw her (Jane Sibbery) in concert. She seemed like a cheap imitation of Laurie Anderson.

She also had the misfortune of playing a popular Philadelphia night club as the front-act before a very popular local act had very special show. The crowd was not in the least interested in what she was doing. Well, except for about 30 people (her friends and hangers-on) out of the capacity crowd.

You been bad
Don't do what I say.
You don't listen.
And you never obey.
Try to teach you.
But you just won't be good.
You won't behave the way
A big girl should.
It's time to give the whip a crack.
I'm gonna have to send you back to
Bitch School.
Bitch School.
You're a beauty.
You're the best of your breed.
You're a handful.
And I know what you need.
You need training.
Gonna bring you to heel.
I'm gonna break you with my will of steel.
Discipline's my middle name.
And no one comes back the same from
Bitch School.
Bitch School.
No more sniffling strangers, or running free at night.
You think my bark's bad, honey - wait till you feel my bite.
You got problems.
You whine and you beg.
When I'm busy,
You wanna dance with my leg.
I'm gonna chain you.
Make you sleep out of doors.
You're so fetching when you're down on all fours.
And when you hear your master,
You will come a little faster, thanks to
Bitch School.

Guess who wrote this one?

I've never heard anything by her except this song, from the soundtrack to "until the end of the world" -there's an awesome film.

I wouldn't have guessed that she'd be anything like Laurie A.

Now I'm a little curious.

Blow Up Hollywood - "WMD"

did really poor in high school it wasn't my thing
i wanted to leave this small town but i had no money
so i visit my uncle sam
and he tells me he has a plan
i can see the world for free
i never knew the desert could be so hot
and all this heavy equipment it must cost a lot
well they issued me my gun
and they told me to kill someone
but he hasn't done a thing to me
they put me on the front line
and they told me to wait for a sign
i'd be looking out for wmd's
what are these?

Chocolate Jesus
Well, i don't go to church on sunday
Don't get on my knees to pray
Don't memorize the books of the bible
I got my own special way

I know jesus loves me
Maybe just a little bit more
I fall down on my knees every sunday
At zerelda lee's candy store

Well, it's got to be a chocolate jesus
Make me feel good inside
Got to be a chocolate jesus
Keep me satisfied

Well, i don't want no abba zabba
Don't want no almond joy
There ain't nothing better
Suitable for this boy

Well, it's the only thing that can pick me up
It's better than a cup of gold
See, only a chocolate jesus
Can satisfy my soul

When the weather gets rough and it's whiskey in the shade
It's best to wrap your savior up in cellophane
He flows like the big muddy but that's okay
Pour him over ice cream for a nice parfait

Well, it's got to be a chocolate jesus
Good enough for me
Got to be a chocolate jesus
It's good enough for me

And it's got to be a chocolate jesus
Make me feel so good inside
Got to be a chocolate jesus
Keep me satisfied

She probably isn't now, but I saw her in the mid 1980s. She had the overly thin dancing chicks on stage doing some pseudomechanical movements and pretty much mimicked Laurie's vocal style.
