The clips are too literal, and there are far too many of them.
But the song still moves me intensely. Even if we are no longer between the wars, but living in their times. BTW, Billy Bragg wouldn't win a Billy Bragg soundalike competition. He'd be accused of exaggeration.

But (as is obvious) a socialist with a strong work ethic. Just because I can, but because I also do believe it is good music, one of his more commercial songs. With the late great Kirsty MacColl below. For the record Billy Bragg is straight, but at the time sexuality was a political issue in Britain because of Clause 28 .
