Frampton nowadays from his website
All my favorite musicians eventually become old Englishmen. Meanwhile, bass content: low E has been the lowest note available to music for roughly 5 centuries. But modern technology allows us to enjoy these lower notes now, down to a low B, and they have been put to use in metal, amongst other genres. I am occasionally called on to play lower notes than low E, but I prefer to tune a 4-string bass down to reach those notes. 5-stringers enjoy a thicker, wider neck and closer string spacing... but I don't. |

RF last weekend. Note the slightly swollen eyeballs (from crying happy tears) and the slightly chewed lip (nervous habit!) These are both the night after I got my job offer, and I'm a bit beer buzzed as well.

Nice pics Shawnee.
That left picture reminds me of Jamie Lee Curtis when she first meets Cleese in A Fish Called Wanda.

I've heard the JLC a lot, more so when my face was thinner.

32 ft pipes? What about the 20 Hz drum? I looked it up and I'm waay out of my league here. The references I found describe the lowest notes on a pipe organ range from 16 to 32 Hz... dang. Later in my search, I found reference to a 128 foot pipe. That's when I quit looking. Wow.

Good point BigV, I was not paying attention to the pipe organs. Low E has been the lowest available to orchestras in general, not to all of music.

I think Pipe Organs are the most impressive instruments we've ever built. Impressive as far as raw power; also as far as the multi-tasking that has to happen in order to drive one of those things.

Wow!! Shawnee photos! Hey! There's Shawnee! Finally! Jesus. I do notice the poor quality of the lens. You should take the crappy camera back!!
Oh isn't Shawnee cute? It's just as I thought....She wasn't holding out because she was a an ugly monster.....Just being shy. Shawnee you look a lot like I thought you would. Funny how getting to know someone online for awhile gives an indicator of what they might look like. Not even using handy stereotypes.....I wonder about this sometimes. Well I for one, am glad the peer pressure has finally paid off.
