Words You Always Type Incorrectly

No, I don't mean misspell. I mean type wrong. The word is spelled absolutely properly in your head but something goes wrong between your brains and your hands ...

A few of mine that I have noticed:

Philadlephia

hopsital

tha tfollowed by any other string of words. Somehow the second "t" detaches on me.

I transpose certain letter combos all the time. the is often teh, but mostly it is the left hand which is slower ont eh draw.

I think it is from a C6/7 injury which has left my left hand in a permanent state of semi numbness and general stupidity. Of course I am mostly left handed.

I used to be able to type. I mean really type, blank keys and all, then I got bad habits, I'm still ok, but not a stealthy ninja typsit. <-- see?

Pretty dyslexic here... so there are quite a few that I transpose, more than I can name really. Lots of "i/e" problems.

teh, tow for two, picking the wrong "their" or mishandling "its" by reflex; all the usuals. It does seem to be a matter of touch-typing reflexes. Otherwise, only my Backspace key knows. Fastest editing tool I've got.

Eh, for me its mostly dropping apostrophies that I dont need, much to UG's chagrin, though i have a tendancy to turn words like 'car' or 'care' or something like that into 'caro', which is my girlfriend's name, cause I'm so used to typing it.

Sometimes when I'm not paying attention, I spell things phonetically. Other than that, I mix up things like "there", "their" or "they're" since they sound alike.

I am reminded at this juncture of the freudian slip. You know when you mean to say something like "Please pass the salt." But instead it comes out as "You bitch, you've ruined my life!"

I have to type the words "transaction" and "verification" a lot and find myself transposing letters. Some time ago, when I was still married, I was Typing While Intoxicated and I told my husband "I hate these little parentheses that keep coming out of my fingers." We immediately made a sign with that sentence on it that, as far as I know, is still hanging inside his computer hutch door!

If an uppercase letter is followed by a lowercase "a," I always type an uppercase "a" by mistake.

TAke this as an example.

I do that too, glatt. When I am making notes in a student electronic file I have to keep backspacing and fixing it because I am so OC!
