Poll for who will be the subject of my Cultural Anthropology paper!
Alright, for those who missed it, I'm writing a paper and I needed a subject. Here is the thread:
http://cellar.org/showthread.php?t=23564&page=2 Please vote on which volunteer you think I should write my paper over! I will "close" voting on WED 9/22 at 12am GMT-0. Thank you! (If I missed any volunteers, please post ASAP and hopefully a mod will be able to help out to add you.)

Dana
Her career, educational pursuits, and lifestyle would be very interesting! Someone in another country to learn about. yeah, but then I am a nerd at heart. |

Many of the candidates would be awesome, but for this class, someone outside her country would probably be pretty unique.

I feel that Clodfobble's life would be the easiest for you to detail and put into cultural perspective; but, that you would benefit most (albeit with more work) from a study of GunMaster357 about whom you'd have the fewest preconceptions. Six of one, half dozen of the other ... I'll go with the underdog - GunMaster357.

Very good point, Gunmaster might just fill the bill. I was thinking that someone happy to see a picture of poo on her cell phone might be deemed "unique."

Both elspode and ali have expressed interest in the project. If you like to vote for them, please post their name in this thread for your vote.

I never vote for myself.
As I live outside the US, I may fill the required criteria but I'm probably not the only one. Dana seems to be ahead of all of us.

I voted Sundae. She has led a very interesting life, has experienced great highs and lows and is very self aware. In terms of cultural 'otherness', she, like me grew up in a working-class British home. Working-class culture is/was very distinct in Britain. It has its own social coda; very different to that of the middle-class, in many ways.
I also think there's a potentially interesting strand in the role of religion, in particular catholicism, on Sundae's upbringing/family/schooling/immediate community.
