Me: OMG looks like me volunteering to help on the cake stall tomorrow now equals me running the teas and coffees for 2 hours. With no prep, provisions or idea of whether I'll get any help.
Me: I've worked as a barmaid and a waitress. I've worked in London and on New Years Eve. I can stop a class of 31 children in their tracks and make them listen to me. I can do this. I wasn't intending to do anything other than help out (and still might not have to) but if I am in sole charge then I'll do it with such aplomb that the PTA clamour for me next year. So I may have inadvertently filled my pockets with lemons but I am determined I will impress with my lemonade stall.

me and pool prez. OK we have to postpone until tomorrow, we are sad and it's a decision we don't want to make....
