Will someone delete the above post for me? I pretty much sound like an idiot. I was trying to pay a compliment and I really screwed it up

Sarge, why did you go and delete your post? Since when a woman doesn't appreciate a compliment? I didn't reply because I didn't want to seem vain by replying to a compliment all the time. Seriously, what you said was really, really sweet. We women need affirmations from time to time. You may joke and tease but when you compliment, you always say the nicest things. Sarge, don't ever regret when you give compliments.

Compliments.
Ask for them by name.

Thanks Lola & Dana. It was rather juvenile the way I worded things. I got embarrassed, but I meant what I said.

Stanley Vacuum Bottles
I have had the 2 Qt bottle for a few years now (I'm guessing nine years, as the code on the base is 05... sounds about right). I use it all the time. I've taken it camping, I take it on road trips, I use it in the house as my coffee reservoir. Over the years I've dropped it, driven out from under it, used it as a pillow. Lately, the little welded staple that holds the top handle connection has become loose. Then it came off, leaving the handle uselessly dangling by the lower connection only. grrrrrr Now I paid a premium for this bottle, the website's selling them for fifty dollars, even. Stanley "says" it has a lifetime warranty. Well.... so, I called their 800 number, a human answered after I pressed 3 and after about two minutes of conversation, they assured me that a replacement bottle would be delivered to my house in 7 to 10 days. So easy, so ... so much like what "lifetime warranty" seems to say. If I don't get the replacement bottle, I'll return here and take back all these nice remarks. But I hope and expect that won't be necessary. I look forward to another nine years of hard service from this one.

I've got probably the same one. I have a smaller one, and the big, wide-mouth one for soups and such. They're all pretty old, but still lots of life left in them. Good to hear that they stand behind their warranty.
They are tougher than pavement.

Priceless-IGA just opened (a few months ago) a grocery store in town.
Their store brand ginger ale is the best I've ever tasted. Better than Canada Dry, and just 67 cents for two liters. Only 25g of sugar. I can't get enough of it.

Johnson's Diamond Eyes.
Tear stain remover & facial cleanser. Suitable for dogs, cats and small animals. Now I usually keep on top of Diz's dark discharge just by gentle application of warm water. I've checked with two different vets and they were happy that it was not a sign of infection. He allows me to clean him quite happily and in my absence Mum says he would come to her and start rubbing his nose hard on her hand as if to say, "C'mon replacment-food-lady, this is part of the deal too!" But when he came back from the foster carer he really was caked. I tried my usual tactic and saw I was removing some hair too. Diz was patient and did not yowl, but I am not going to accept that as a sign I'm not harming him when he's purring like his purr switch is fixed on max just to be home. This stuff is (obviously!) specially designed and means I only clean his face every three-four days. It's suitable for regular use with the only disclaimer being that vet advice should be sought for persistent problems. Already done as above, discharge which hardens if not removed, not goo. Still had to sort out his ears though - I hadn't done it for about a fortnight before I went away. Yucky. NB I am very very careful, using a warm wet cotton bud and only cleaning as far as Dylan could reach with his tongue. I think he was addicted to the taste of Diz's earwax because he would clean Diz until Diz nipped him, but Diz hardly ever cleaned Dylan. |

Auntiedigr came to visit from Buffalo. I requested, and recieved, a bottle of Dr. Brown's soda (two bottles actually). Cream Soda, to be exact. The perfect amount of vanilla. It's not sold in these parts.
The Dr. Brown's Black Cherry soda was ok, but, nothing to shout about, a bit heavy on the cherry for me.

Do you not have a Trader Joe's nearby? I'm not sure where exactly you're at in KY...they sell it there.

This iPhone 5s continues to amaze the shit out of me.
I use an app called MyFitnessPal, which helps me track calories. But the motion sensor in the 5s also acts like a pedometer on the app. Then there is an app called Sleep Time that I bought yesterday. You place your phone near you on the bed with the app running, and it monitors your sleep pattern, also via the motion sensor. The same company that makes this app also has a heart monitor that it uses through the camera. I remember mentioning many years ago on this site that I couldn't wait to be able to listen to Internet radio in my car...now I have a phone that can check my fucking heartbeat! |

Well I could do with shifting a few stone, but I'm not sure much less Cherry (Cellar link but definitely NSFW) is really do-able.
You know which photo I'm linking to anyway, but just in case some people don't... |
