It varies from year to year.
Today (Dec. 26th.) is awesome this year. Quiet. Nobody to fight while commuting. Wish there were more days like this. Hard to get out of bed though, after the 4 day weekend. |

When I was a kid it was my birthday. It marked the nearing end of summer and my return to prison er... the best public school in the county. Now I'd say election day. The next public official always looks better than the last until you put the name on the door.

Can I change my vote? It's only 3:30 in the afternoon, and I'm having a hard time focusing on anything. The day is dragging. Wife called earlier from home to tell me that our oldest (3rd grade) had stomped off to her room because she didn't get anything she wanted this year. She made no mention of that when she was playing with her presents ALL DAY LONG yesterday.
Suggested to my wife that she not kill her, but instead ignore her and let her pout alone in her room all she wants. Hope everyone's alive when I get home. |

I'm not keen at all on New Years Eve (too many arguments over the years) so Jan 1st would never feel depressing to me, I'm glad December 31st is over.
26th is Boxing Day here - a Bank Holiday (national holiday) so I've always spent it with family and/or friends. And my birthday has only been depressing when I have been depressed - usually I don't make any plans and someone lovely insists I have to celebrate it and takes me out. So I voted for other. Valentines Day in my case. Every year for the last four or five years I've promised myself, "I will not be alone next Valentines Day". Maybe 2008 will be the year I get it right, otherwise roll on 2009!

Today is depressing because I need to clean. I really don't feel like though. I've done the dishes and some laundry and not much more...
I think I'll steal zippy's idea and go eat some sushi, that should cheer me up enough to vacuum.

I forgot about Valentine's Day. What a horrible holiday. When you aren't with someone, it's depressing. I loathed it for years for that reason. When you are with someone, you don't need a stupid holiday to tell you how to act with your partner.

I chose other: I'd vote 4th of July. I hate the holiday itself, it's retardedly hot, I'm always overwhelmed with extra kid stuff during the summer, and there never seems to be anything to look forward to for months to come.

Every day in January; it's like a month long Monday morning. Boxing Day on the other hand is great.
