I thought you didnt have time....sorry to push (!) But this is great, thanks!
I'll share it with my record geek pals. Right away the early rockers and some classic country jump out. It was a good auction investment. Ebay should help you make some $. I found this 78 record album binder once at a garage sale. It made me smile because it was all labeled and organised to hold an array of records- handwritten was "lively dancing, good mixer", or "slow walzing", or "fast Brazilian beat" next to the sleeves, like he was a dj or something. You could just imagine the 1940s parties. Kinda the same way one of those 45 record carriers, the plastic ones that look like a small round cake box with a twist handle, make me wax nostalgic. |

No Problem, warch. Let me know if you have someone interested in it. I would have to list them out to sell the lot on ebay. I just don't have time to research and find out what each one is worth and how rare it is and all that, etc. I might go ahead and list the lot on Ebay, so if I do, I will let you know.

I had to remind myself to keep breathing as I read that.
And I don't collect records. Daay-yahm.

I'm with Wolf, holy freakin crap!!!!!
Buy something to play them on at the next sale you hit. Those old folks had fine taste, you may just want to keep that stuff.

Well, we are going to another auction tomorrow, at which an original Edison Phonograph Model A will be sold. We'll see if we can get that for under a couple hundred dollars.

Case, what was the final outcome of this story? Did you ever sell the records?

Yes, I did sell those records as a lot. I still have a box of 45s from that auction, though. I should sell those, too.

No, actually. I spent all the money on juju bears and paper clips.
