he's doing laps around the porch

when he's not crying to be let in.

actually, he doesn't want in

he only wants me to get out of bed and walk down the hall into the kitchen. stand there in my fucking pajamas and open the basement door and stand there while he orbits the porch at mach 2.

he doesn't bark at this time. Because I'm standing there. Asleep. in the middle of the damn night.

I just had a customer in my office who got a bill for $5276 from their former leasing company. The charge was for excess miles. She was over by 35,173 miles @ 15 c per.

She leased her new car from us 3 weeks ago. We had leased her the one she was turning in. I remember, at the time of the deal, asking the salesman what was happening with her miles. We have a form that addresses that issue. It exists because we commonly pay remaining payments or mileage penalties as part of the negotiated deal for the new car. Her form stated that we were ONLY returning her car....specifically NOT paying anything due to close out the old car. She signed it with the salesman, and obviously didn't read it.

If we had addressed it at that time, it would have added about $150 to her payment, and undoubtedly killed the new deal. The salesman is one of the ones who I consider to be relatively moral. Well....I DID.

That's how people get fucked. She assumed we were handling the end of her lease for her. It just never came up. On one hand, it's retarded of her to make that assumption. She is contractually obligated to pay excess miles that are on her car at return. She knew it. She just assumed that we were taking care of it. We didn't do anything wrong TECHNICALLY. I still think we fucked her.

It burns.

I didn't realize this was a zombie thread. I must have missed it the first time out, so I'm glad it's back

That's a bummer, Jim. Did you end up taking the heat from the customer over this?

Upon the advise of my Ex-Father -in-law,I leased a car once - ONCE! Got beat in basically the same way. I will NEVER do that again.

Yeh I bet she figured that if she didn't mention it then the problem would go away. Maybe she thought she was getting one over on you. Dunno. People are doing even stranger things these days.
