Looks like she managed to chew through some of the straps before she died.

here is one of Mono Lake, California. Located near Mammoth Lakes, this volcanic area in the high desert is a drainage with no outlet, so all the mineral salts drain into it. It has some craggy salt pillars that are formed in and around it. My picture doesnt really show them that well... I was suprised that the photo turned out this well on a camara phone.

All the pictures I've seen of Mono Lake do show the weird salt formations, it's nice to see what the whole lake looks like in its setting.

In the second photo, the child's head looks like it has been photoshopped in. I take Chris's word that it wasn't, but it is a good example of how things can look shopped that aren't.

Is that an actual ear piercing, or some kind of stick on?

Recently my 3 siblings and I had to get together to handle business after our father passed away. Since we all live apart far and wide (my brother lives in Taiwan) and we don't get together too often my wife suggested I get a portrait.

We were all barefoot so I decided to do a different type of portrait. So here it is and here is an explanation. From the top is my oldest sister (first child), just turned 60, always athletic and still runs every morning. Right is my brother who is 54 and does yoga. Bottom is sister #2 (2nd child), lives in Florida and likes walking on the beach.
Left is me (baby of the family), who has bent up toes on both feet, must be genetic as my index fingers also bend slightly towards the other 3 fingers.

I guess feet say a lot about people.

Wow, I feel right at home. I like the photo Chris, and the explanation for the tan toes.

Would be great if you keep it up for 20 more years, sort of like Nicholas Nixon and the Brown sisters, you could be the foot family.

Went for a short hike in a local nature center. Saw a couple of deer crashing through the woods, followed half a minute later by a black lab running after them.

Ten minutes later, I heard some movement and saw them. Barely. Good camouflage. No dog around this time.

Amazing difference... results of age, lifestyle, and a host of things we don't know. Fascinating picture.
