We have a copy of the full press conference at work. Most of the versions on the internet are shortened to just a few seconds before and after the shot.

What has always amazed me is the fact, and, yes, it is a fact, that TV newscasters will say "The following video is graphic and intense. Those of our viewers who are sensitive to this should avert their eyes." and then proceed to play the shit out of the clip.
Here in the NYC area, quite some time ago, the Spanish news channel, I think it was Telemundo41, was interviewing a father whos daughter had died. Interviewing him at the grave, no less. His ex-wife, the girls mother, shows up during the interview, and the newsbroad runs over to the mother. The father goes to his truck, pulls a 9mm, walks up behind the mother, levels the piece at the back of her head and BLAMMO!! The mother falls, the cameraman drops the camera, and the shit hits the fan. The camera is pointed at the fallen mother about 10 feet away. the father walks over to her, aims the gun at her, and empties the clip into her. Then calmly turns, walks to his truck, and drives away. That they'll play for ever. The video of the firefighter pulling an elderly black woman out of a burning building, then running in to save her cat gets a quick mention after sports and before the credits. Because of that obvious callousness, I say "Long Live FARK." www.fark.com

Superman was kind of cavalier in his friendships, though...

Sundae Girl--it was R. Budd Dwyer, state treasurer of Pennsylvania. He off'ed himself at a press conference.

Crikey! Thanks for that - I have no idea how something that shocking (even in another country) managed to miss my radar.

It happened in the morning and was shown in full on the noon news. By the evening news it had been censored.
