@ Bri: Oh Cherry's definately influenced me on the trying to eat healthy thing. I intermittently try to, but rarely with a view to actually measuring out the 5 a day (or as close as I can get) more just cutting out the bad stuff. This time i'm trying to get a variety of healthy stuff into my diet. So, it's more about what I am including than what I am excluding. And when I am making myself buy an apple or a banana instead of a bag of crisps and a cadbury's whole nut chocolate bar, I have in my minds eye, how well Cherry is looking and how much will power she has.
'cause...me and Cherry are quite alike in a lot of ways. So, I figure if she can be strong and committed then so can I :P |

I'm saying it's better to throw an out-of-door party in threatening weather with your best good friends sharing a socialist stew (they all contribute to the pot, after all) and THEN get obliquely involved in politics simply by mentioning a few things to some wandering soldier or other. Then sit back, relax and watch the show!

I got that big-ass ugly calibration document out of the way, mostly. Now I can just hang out in the lab for the next week.

100 eBay feedbacks.
It's a small thing, and I know there are many real vendors out there with tens of thousands. But hey, I did something, 100%, 100 out of 100. That's like the best grade you can get, in school. |

The good news: ChocoMama made it safely up to Tampa (but her friend drove the whole way because mom freaked out about 8 miles in to the drive.)
The bad news (this should go in the "What's making your blood pressure go through the roof and making you homicidal?" thread but we don't have one of those): ChocoMama and her friend insisted on following the GPS's directions to the hotel instead of the ones I wanted to give (which involved one merge and three turns for the whole four hour drive). They proceeded to get horrifically lost around Tampa for 2 hours. Many confused, frustrated, bewildered and increasingly angry phone calls were exchanged. At one point they were two blocks from the hotel, and I wanted to give them directions but mom decided to take the GPS's word over mine and ended up going 10 miles north when they needed to go two blocks south. Finally we told them to stay put, and Kitsune and I went to retrieve them. Their hotel just opened two months ago, and their GPS could make heads nor tails of it. Siiiiigh. But -- count your blessings, right? Mom's here, and safe. |

Today was the Tman's first soccer game.
Over here, under 6's only play 4 aside. I'm soooo proud of our little Knights ...Im co-captain (not quite sure how that happened), but they were seriously awesome!! They were defeated 8 to 6, but they listened, had fun, didnt push anyone over and were just great little sports. I'm also co coach, ha, which really just means encouraging them and making sure they are running in the right direction. The other team got snotty because Tman had a natural inkling for defense and would bolt down the the goal when the other team got the ball....it was great, they would of flogged us by another 4 goals....youre allowed to defend the goal, but not have an official goalie or use your hands. Stupid Mums...Theyre 6 for fucks sake, and you won anyway...get over it. Also, props to the young ref (ump?) he was only about 15 and really good with the kids and the parents. Good day, Ive washed the team jumpers already Last nite I got to dress up in my fancies coz we went to a Debutante Ball....the girl I went to watch looked amazing and it took me back to my Deb days....even the same dude with the same bad *rug* did the training. Saw heaps of people I havent seen for 10+ years and pretended I didnt recognise some others |

ref. - umps are for tennis and cricket.
Debutante's ball? Is that the norm over there? Over here it's only the upper-classes who do the whole deb thing. Certainly not something I have ever seen or been involved with lol, :P [eta] though my gran had her Coming Out ball (as the deb's ball was called) to the ViceRoy of India. |

@ Dana, its pretty common around these parts. Coming into fashion more and more.
The debs are presented to a visting hob knob of the participating church. Scrolls are presented, 2 classical dances are performed...Pride of Erin, and Waltz. Then a couple of contempory types....last nites being, a Tangoette performed to Sexy Back and some progressive thing to Achy Breaky Heart..buahaha. I will have to dig out the pics from mine. |

Achy Breaky Heart?
I thought there was a world wide ban on that song.
