Camping This Weekend
[Princess OTR's first time "real" camping - (tent, not trailer or cabin) - she LOVED it.

That looks ike one princess who is going to be able to defend her own castle; bold knights may be optional extras.
Is that a real gun?

My clematis.
Bonus side story, only available here at the Cellar for a limited time: We were talking flowers, and my mom said something about cyclamen. I said "Cyclamen, isn't that the new 4 day treatment for Clematis?" Ba dum dum...

Rainbow Lorikeet
I took this picture outside my fence a few days ago. The parrots really love the blossom on this tree (which I don't know the name of unfortunately, but I'll be finding out) and they spend most of each morning there lately. The blooms are almost finished now though, so I guess that'll be the end of the parrots till next year.

Thanks classic. It is nice to have native birds around, but they can be pretty raucous. Not so great at the crack of dawn, but still beautiful to look at.
Those particular ones are very common around here, and in most coastal areas of Australia. They can be quite comical to watch.

If we didn't have cats and dogs, we'd be able to hand feed them. They get very tame very quickly if you leave food out for them. Particularly that breed of parrot. Bread with sugar or honey can easily be held in the hand to offer to them and it doesn't take too long for them to get brave enough to come for a feed. I was pretty close to that bird. Only about 2 metres away (6 feet). They're pretty cocky really.

I feed squirrels here. But really, they're just tree rats. Some of them are very social. But Frank and Trixie make their contribution to keeping them leery.
Australia got squirrels? Squirrels. Thank heavens for spell check.

No, but we have possums. All kinds, and they get pretty friendly too. They like making homes in people's roof cavity actually, and can be very annoying when they bounce around at night. Possums are nocturnal as you probably know. Most of the possums we have here are pretty cute as opposed to the ones you guys have over there.

Me and one of my students. A complete coincidence that we dressed this way, so I had to capture it on film.
