The gas cap is under that door. You unlock it with the key, and it comes open toward you. The actual gas cap is just a black plastic screw on type.
Found this. It came yesterday. It's on already. I also got a new console (the wide vertical area between the fuel door and the seat) cover that matches.

It might be worth talking to Patrick Smith at Smitty's Upholstery.

I don't know if he does bikes, but his work is excellent. He did my SSR, two of my buddy's '56 Chevys, a wagon and sedan delivery, which are more difficult than a sedan, and several show cars I've seen. Plus he seems to be a nice guy, as are his two helpers.

I'm looking for one of those myself. I know a place that does good work but after they fucked me over last summer I can't recommend them. I'll ask Guy, the retired Harley tech, he's in with the bike and hot rod set in south Jersey.

Guy say he'll talk to the painter today and see what his schedule is. Do you want the frame painted too?

no, just the body parts. fairing, fenders, tour pack, saddle bags and side covers. I'll bring the parts detached from the bike

Thanks. Went to see a guy in Philly today. I have to wait fur his estimate as he was uncertain about matte finish paint.

I'll call your guy tomorrow and see what he knows about it.

I like the look, it shows the shape without confusing reflections, and appears to radiate color from within.
The problem with matte finish, according to the truck forums, is it shows fingerprints and if you scratch it, it's very hard to hide or fix.
Investigate semi-gloss too.

Nice job, Ripley! I like it. She's got talent.

Is it a self portrait?
