If age difference is the only problem then that's not bad. However, like i after e there are some exceptions to that rule. Obviously over 18, and if one is under let's say 24 then a 20 or 30 year age difference might need to be tread gently.

Yes, much over 18. 20 year difference between this person and myself. Person will be leaving at the end of the summer. I would just like to spend some quality time with this person. Make a few memories. Feel something again. Hurt heart in a couple months? I don't care. I would feel alive. But I don't want to subject myself to ridicule, in case I'm reading things wrong.
