We actually do. There's a huge demand for it, and since there is no industry in DC, the river is undeveloped parkland for miles in each direction.

Nice looking log. It's exactly the kind that I wouldn't want the kids to go across, but would know in my heart that their dad was right to let them try it. (Unlike other risks, where I would feel quite certain that it was a bad idea no matter what.)

I didn't go over the log. I took the foot bridge that was 20 feet away.
A few years ago, the bridge was out, and the log was the official way across, and I did it then. Successfully, I might add, but I kept thinking how if I fell just the wrong way, I'd break something and be a couple miles from the nearest road. |

Took my 2 weekend charges to the park for awhile and was playing around with my new Canon EOS M mirrorless and a new lens, the Canon 40mm pancake lens. Not the best choice for impromptu portraits but it worked out ok.
Later I played with the images in some different editing programs, LR and PS and also one for portrait work; B&W seemed the best way to go with those bright colors. Here is what I got. Keep in mind Emily is 5 and Sarah is 7... Maybe I made them look a bit too much like pre teens with the sultry looks! Oh and I had to clone one of Sarah's front teeth over the one that fell out last week! |

But now you don't have a picture with the tooth missing.
Are you happy with the mirrorless camera?

Look at the third picture for the missing tooth.
chris, not to take anything away from you as a photographer--I think you're great--but your granddaughters are just plain lovely. I bet their passport photos are cute. Just sayin.

Addie lost her first tooth. Here's a pic her mom sent me.

Wow! How big was her tooth? Or is that sack her expected returns?

That's a special tooth fairy pillow. It is personalized and they put their tooth in a pocket on the front.
