Where you goin' that you need to carry on a saber? Couldn't you just check it, so when you arrive in the jungle you can just pick it up with your mosquito netting and loin cloth?

Before terrorism scares I didn't want some whack job with a saber sitting next to me.

My wife brought a Samurai sword back from Japan and put it in the overhead bin. That was a few years ago.

No sabers or meat cleavers? What will I do when I get to Chicago's Midway and have to entertain myself while I wait for yet another delayed flight?

Hmmm - seems yours is a little more lax than ours.

I've had to dump or check my nail scissors (they were in my makeup bag in my handbag), nail file...mums knitting needles and my aerosol BO Basher.

Sorta related: With all this diligence about what gets on a plane you'd think your bags would make it to your destination. This epee fencer I met had to borrow and buy weapons for a tourney because the airline "lost" his gear. He should probably check ebay.

Good point, Griff.

This is why people don't want to check expensive items, saber or not! You think they'd be paying more attention to such items, since they're so "dangerous." Who knows whose hands they could fall into.

You know, I didn't even realize the joke in "good point" until I had already hit the submit button; I was actually trying to put a twist on what I thought was a straight comment. Oh, well.

lmao...I didn't realize the pun either, so it was unintentional.

I was trying to broaden my mind and be more open to people who might deem it important to carry large spears and sabers aboard a big old passenger plane. It might help with the screaming children and the mouth breathers!

And now I just got your "touche" joke. Just this very second. I couldn't figure out why you were making fun of me agreeing with Griff. Told you I'm dense.
