Bah Humbug! Reverse Advent Calendar
A week late, but who cares. Stealing (and perverting) the lovely idea being shared on facebook of a reverse advent calendar ...adding a donation to a box each day of advent and donating it on Chistmas eve.....
Instead of opening a door on a joyful aspect of the festive season each day, let's close the door on a shitty one. I'll do the first seven to catch us up (with a little help from my friends and previous posts/threads on here....), And then whoever is feeling bah humbug can jump in each day. One item per day, no repeats, first come, first served. 1) Salvation Army Bell Ringers at stores 2) Brag & Gag letters 3) "Cinnamon" scented pinecones 4) Moms having to think of present ideas for their kids for everyone in the family 5) The obsession with Charlie Brown's lame Christmas tree 6) piped festive music/radio stations that play nothing but Christmas music from November 1st 7) Eggnog

9) Managers' addresses at company Christmas parties
sample agenda: CEO speaking, the while stomachs are rumbling and we are plundering the bread baskets hors d'oeuvres served CFO speaking main course, same as last two years, is served (with 400 attending this takes ages!) employees' representative speaking dessert served enter stage left painfully incompetent comedian Aaaargh! (I stopped attending those events) |
