Ring "tone?"
I don't have a cell phone.
But all 4 of my vintage rotary dial Western Electric telephones "ring" in the traditional sense of the word.

Funny you brought up that we still call ringtones "ring." We still say 'dial the telephone' and I haven't seen a rotary dial for years. It was tough sneaking onto the phone when I was a teen and was grounded!

Right now it's the intro from Beru Revue's Hoods-a-Gogo, which will only make sense to people of a certain age from the Philadelphia area.
Prior to that I was using the hotline phone sound from In Like Flint/Our Man Flint. To mix things up a little bit I also have The Doors - Alabama Song, Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall, Psycho, and The Imperial March from Star Wars. I realized at work last night that I have to put together a ringtone for They're Coming to Take Me Away.

Just for Wolf, Beru Revue 25th anniversary:
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/muc/204845676.html Dopey me, I was actually only vaguely aware of the scene at the time and thus do not know any of the Beru material and thus have no interest. But there it is. |
