Ok - I got an explaination for the reason the questions are worded the way they are.

She said something about psychometrics and established psychological measures, and if she could have made up her own measures she would have worded the questions differently.

See that's exactly what I was thinking. MmmHmmm..

Ummm ... bullshit?

I've taken classes in psychometrics, test construction, and so on. The results of her study are going to end up being off, very off, because a high proportion of the questions REQUIRE that you be homosexual in order to answer them. She needed either to completely rephrase the questions or to add a "not applicable" choice.

I got a reply from the test giver and based on their response it feels like the questions were canned. They didn't seem entirely comfortable with the wording either.

Either they are happy with flawed results or they are testing for something other than what they are announcing. All due respect to the researcher, but man, that is probably the lamest topic I have ever seen. Should go great in a journal, though.
