I often have dreams of me forgetting to do something important and the reprecussions are pretty awful. Some dreams are me failing an important paper/test/class. In the mornings I have dreams that I'm getting ready to leave...then I wake up 20mins late thinkin I'm ready to walk out the door. A dream I haven't had in awhile but have often is that I somehow win/inheret lots of money and I get to go to the mall and buy lots of clothes and stuff for myself/family. I wake up and look around for my stuff...and then feel awful that I don't have any of it.
I have had a couple of good dreams of me waking up next to my b/f. One particular was when we were a bit older and married, our child came into the room to wake me up. I told her to go into the living room and watch some cartoons while I woke daddy up. It was a good wake-up. ![]() Then I had a dream that we were 60ish, all the kids were gone, we had wake up sex, and I said that we hadn't done that in awhile, so then we decided to go on vacay and get a really nice hotel, like another honeymoon. Most of my dreams are stressful tho ![]()

Just the usual BS Wolf. I started going to counseling and am in the process of not smoking (pot) multiple times a day like I use to. I use to get or feel "nervous" all the time...like butterflies in my stomach ya know? But that's been getting better during the day so maybe it's just coming out at night now? Would make sense to me I guess, if that's what's going on. My counselor talked about anxiety medication. I'm not good with medication nor do I wanna be dependant on that to not feel anxious...so what are my other choices?

Talk to a doctor about medications for anxiety that don't have addictive potential. Some of the newer antidepressant medications might be useful. I cannot recommend specific medications as I'm not a doctor and don't play one on TV, but perhaps folks who have had personal experience can offer their stories?

I had one of those running...running...hiding...they're after me...dreams a couple nights ago. Yes, there are some stressors in my life that could cause that (potential to lose my contract employment position, etc.).
I become physically ill when I'm overstressed. Internal bleeding, rashes, vomiting, all kinds of fun stuff, so I saw a therapist to learn stress management techniques. One thing he taught me was self-hypnosis and it has helped enormously. Meditation and yoga are also very helpful in dealing with stress. I refuse to take medications to control my moods/emotions, so have had to learn how to manage them through other means. Dreams, in my opinion, are the sub-conscious mind expressing your fears, hopes and desires in a visible manner. Stormie

All food for thought, thank you! I go back this week so maybe I'll find out something then. Until then, I'll just continue to dream. When you actually realize your dreaming, while you're dreaming, it's not so bad.

Back on the topic of strange dreams, thought I'd share this one with you:
I am a big fan of a group of British writers/ comedians/ actors called The League of Gentlemen. Last night I dreamed I bumped into one of them - Mark Gatiss - in a pub. I was hinting madly and angling for an invite back to his place, and eventually got one. It turned out he lived above the pub. The stairs were REALLY steep, and I had to pull myself up them by using the bannisters. We had a laugh about how it was better for him because he didn't have to worry about being stalked by fans. Then I met his boyfriend (he does have one in real life, but I have no idea what he looks like). He was really old and grey, and dressed like a real old queen. The flat looked exactly as I would expect a rented flat above a North London pub to look - quite shabby, run down and uncared for. But Mark kept saying how Ian had worked on it for months and it was so stylish - and in the dream I agreed. Then I was introduced to his dog & cat - they were both long-haired and badly kempt. The dog smelled bad and the cat dribbled on me when I stroked it. I was asked if I wanted to stay to tea, and although I agreed enthusiastically, when I woke up I felt quite pleased not to be facing their hospitality. This is a vague running theme with me. I meet people I really admire in my dreams and either they are really rude to me, or drunk, or stupid or (in this case) just a bit manky. I'm sure there's a message in there about self-esteem. Sigh.
