Fixed it.

If you only knew what I've been through with/for/because of the people I'm related to.

I told the majority of them to kiss off a long time ago.

And, yes, I thank God for the few friends I have.

Just bought an HP all-in-one so that, among other things, I can scan in papers that need to be emailed to various offices without delay. The scanner worked perfectly on the first job. Today it scans some things correctly but breaks sheets of text into 7 or 8 scans of only an inch or so each. There is no full-page scan. I've never seen this before with other scanners.

Scheduling is making me antsy - this has to go today, I won't be able to do it tomorrow; and I have to leave for an all-afternoon meeting in 15 minutes.

This thing is brand new. Arrrggghhhh.

Found a weird way around it. The scanner will scan properly to my email, but not to my computer. So I set up the email scan function, emailed myself the documents, saved them, and sent them where they needed to go. Arrgghh ...

Try reinstalling the software.

HP printers, especially the All-in-one, have become plastic flotsam and jetsam.
They try to do too many functions, and one or more is erratic most all the time.

I have my doubts about HP as a manufacturing company anymore.
Do they even still actually make (new) computers, or just sell re-furbished jobs ?

I like my Brother all-in-one. Has been working without issue for over a year.

My Epson all in one was great. Especially after I got into re-loading ink cartridges.

A couple buddies and myself went out last evening, had a good meal, had good service, had a great time.

Then, after I got home later, much later, I actually looked at my receipt.

Sales tax here in KY is 6%. Even in restaurants. My tax should be like $4.76 or $4.77...It was nine bucks!

If the bill had been an even $100, my tax would have only been $6.

Needless to say, I'll be making a stop by there this afternoon when I leave the house, to settle accounts.

I don't like it when people steal from me, even if it is less than $5.

I don't usually buy HP anymore, but this was a shelf model - newly discontinued HP Photosmart 5520. I got it for $63, so I figured that, even though the ink is expensive, I only need it for a short time and not for too much printing. I plan to leave it with my sons when I'm done here. I checked out the cost of printing from a thumb drive, copying, scanning, etc. at places like Staples and if this thing will actually work, at $63 I'm ahead.

I'll reinstall the drivers.

Our HP all in one works pretty well. Sometimes it a little flakey after a thunderstorm, but unplugging it for a while makes it better. It's 5 years old, so maybe they don't make them like that anymore.

8% alcohol-by-the-drink city tax.

Didn't know it existed.

8% on top of the 6% sales tax? That's a lot.

That IS a lot. Normally taxes that high only exist for tourists as airport fees and the like. Everybody is fine with taxing the tourists.
