One of the parent volunteers caught up with me yesterday to tell me I had a lovely singing voice.
I've been debating about whether to put this here because it's pure trumpet blowing, but in the end I figured why not. The odd way that they loaded the coach meant that there were five adults in the last five rows of seats. The children started singing harvest songs and of course we joined in. But when they ran out of songs, someone else started adult singalongs. And no, I do not mean The Good Ship Venus. We gave a rousing rendition of The Streets of London for example. And this was what the parent helper commented on. She said I sounded like Kirsty McColl. I don't, but it made me swell with pride. There, I've said it now.
