Cool Cosmic Blob
Scientists: Cosmic blob biggest thing in universe
(SPACE.com) -- An enormous amoeba-like structure 200 million light-years wide and made up of galaxies and large bubbles of gas is the largest known object in the universe, scientists say. (from different sites) ![]() FIGURE: Section of the SSA22 field. The narrow band image is in the green band while the V image is in the red and blue bands so that Lyman alpha emitters appear as green objects. There are two emitters in this small region of the field. ![]() |

Guys, it's amoeba-like because it is one! Just like every human can be likened to a 'cell' in the 'organism' that is earth, every galaxy is like a cell in that big amoeba! Fractals! Every piece, no matter what size, has the whole inside it! Inside subatomic particles? The universe again!
