Complaint letters

Have you ever had to write one or at least felt like someone deserved to get one from you?

Last night my husband and I went and stayed at a flash inner city hotel and had the worst new years eve ever. This is the email I've just written and sent off to them:

Quote:
Dear Sir/Madam,

It is with regret that I compose this email in the form of a complaint after our stay in your hotel in Brisbane last night in room 1107. My husband and I had been hoping for a quiet and romantic escape from all the New Years Eve madness and thought that by staying in a 5 star hotel our desires would have been met. Unfortunately this was not the case. Below is a list of our grievances and a brief explanation for each.

* Our room was next to the elevators. The ring from the elevator could be heard clearly throughout the night.

*The toilet in our room continually flushed unless we 're-pressed' the button. Considering Brisbane is in a severe drought, I would have thought issues like this would not occur in an establishment such as yours.

*There were no tables available in any restaurants. This we were understanding of considering it was New Years Eve.

*After consultation with your staff, we made the decision to have a lovely meal from the room service menu, however when we phoned through our order, we were informed that there was only a limited menu available, so due to the hour we had little choice but to simply put up with this option.

*Our dinner then took a considerable amount of time to arrive, and it was very close to cold by the time it was served.

*There was no evidence of the limited menu list in our room.

*Music from the band playing downstairs could be clearly heard until well after midnight. This resulted in us not getting to sleep until well after 1am.

*The pillows in the room were of a poor standard and have caused both my husband and me to be suffering from sore necks and backs this morning.

These are the main issues we had after our stay with you. As you should know by now, we booked our room through 'ratestogo.com', so I'm not sure if that qualifies us as second class citizens in the opinion of your management however, my husband and I travel extensively both within Australia, and overseas, so we're aware of the level of service we should be able to expect from a 5 star establishment. Unfortunately this was not the case with your hotel last night, and after a similar experience by my husband in your Adelaide hotel, we would be very hesitant about choosing your hotel in future.

We understand that being new years eve there would be some minor delays with service and we in no way expected not to hear some revelry from other guests and patrons, but I don't believe that new years eve is a good enough excuse for all of these points listed above.

We were simply disappointed in the extreme and feel very unhappy that our new year has begun so badly.

Sincerely,

Trish Williams.

haha...nice idea cept then I'd be spending my new years on a plane, although actually, it probably would be more comfortable than the bed we had last night.
