Opening Day

I think the quote below the tip mug is random, but I happened to see it today and it said "the last two words of the national anthem: Play Ball." I remembered it's Opening Day! My brother the baseball fanatic tried hard to get tickets to Cincy.

Anyway, Go REDS! Let's win a bunch of games this year to honor the memory of Mr Joe Nuxhall! Anyone local will tell you that, for years, their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and later themselves, might watch the game on the television, but the sound was turned down and the radio up for Joe and Marty (Brenneman.)

Loosely related, Marty Brenneman's son Thom is a singular talent just like his dad, and a really really nice guy.

I'm wishing my heart out that my Royals will stay relevant until it's warm enough for me to justify a 3 hour drive south to go see them play.

Gawd, I hate being born into supporting a loser franchise. Praise the Lord I still have some hopes for Chelsea. Let's go you Blues!
