Old Gasoline
I have about three gallons of gasoline that's been sitting for five years in the gas tank of my Honda TransAlp. Because I let it sit so long I had to completely disassemble the carburetor and clean the jets and other little passages.
Now I'm ready to put it back together, and I need to put in fresh gas, but I don't know what to do with the old gas. I can think of a lot of fun things to do with it, but it's been so dry that I think the neighbors would shoot me and the sheriff would arrest me. So how does one dispose of old gasoline? Any suggestions? I'm considering putting it in my truck, but I don't think it's worth risking an expensive repair bill. |

As long as it doesn't have any water, or particles like rust in it, it shouldn't hurt your truck, diluted in a tank of fresh gas.

Maybe I'll filter it then mix it into the truck. That will probably be the easiest thing to do.

Put it in an old gas can, and leave it on your front lawn at night. Someone will steal it.

It's worth twice what I paid for it. I should have invested all my money in gasoline.

I feel like I invest all my money in gasoline now. I say hang on to that can of gasoline and sell it to someone when it reaches $6.00/gal.

Pssst... there's this thing called the commodities market, anybody can participate, and it doesn't even involve turning your garage into a major fire hazard...
