Obscure Music

Are there any obscure titles you would like to have.
You don't have to have any reason. You just want them and if you could have the original vinyl that would be even better but a re release would be fine too.

I have this bookmarked for my amazon wish list.

A Nod is As Good As a Wink to a Blind Horse- by Faces

What are yours? add pic too ?

Elvis Hitler - Hellbilly
Great psychobilly band.

I'm not sure why you think Faces' Nod is obscure, Sky. It was a popular group at it's time.

I really enjoy these from time to time. Celtic music from Edinburgh:

Well I have never heard of them Dar. It could be that growing up we always would buy albums and not listen to the radio much. We had albums of every kind since the third grade up. We lived way out in the country and as far as I can remember I didn't get into listening to the radio until 1975. I am not sure why that is. We just loved to play what we liked. That was usually Kiss,Aerosmith,Black Sabbath,BTO,Pink Floyd,EJ, many many many other albums but never faces.

I feel like a dork. Like I said too much. I guess I am trying to explain a memory I have of us kids blaring our record players as loud as they could get and singing to the wheat fields way far away from where anyone was listening to faces. As if that explains anything. lol

I listened to a bit of North Sea Gas. They remind me of a school teacher who would have sing a longs and play great get together songs like that.

I listened to a bit of Elvis Hitler too. Let me just say...Hells Bells!

[edit] Maybe obscure wasn't the right word.

Not at all, Sky. It just confused me. It might be that they were a bit before you? I graduated HS in 1972, so they were widely known then.

My teenage crush and young adult BFF was a musician.
I went to see him countless times in local venues.
I adored him.
I got over my heterosexual crush on him, mostly because he was hooked up with one of the hottest girls in school and I knew I couldn't compare. My relationship with him was more like a fag hag (yes, he was straight.) He loved poetry, words, analysis as much as I did. We talked the world to rights, and to the next dimension and into parallel universes and back. I remember his metaphors even now and love him for them.

We fell out over my wedding. He dropped out at the last minute - singing a song during the signing of the register - because he hadn't had any opportunity to practice with the other friend. I hurt like buggery, blaming him totally because he was the one who backed out. Over years, I realised it was the other friend - who I moved in with after my divorce! - who had called the shots and made things difficult.

Anyway. Bottom line. His band was shortlisted for The Mercury Music Prize last week. He didn't win, but it's a massive accolade just to be shortlisted. I still love the man I loved back in the 90's. I'm going to buy the album that was nominated. And I have always missed him like crazy. I just think I left it too late.

Timothy Charles Sidney Elsenburg (I think that's right) of Sweet Billy Pilgrim, if googling ever leads you here, I miss you.

I bought this album just around the time i left school in 1973 (yes i'm that old) and played the arse out the LP mainly for the track called McDonalds lament which has the most amazing viola solo.
the band was called Wolf and the main player was Darryl Way ex of Curved Air so for years i tried to get the album and a couple of years ago i got into a bidding war on e-bay and got a japanese import version, for a great amount of cash anyway found the track on youtube enjoy.....

@ dar and bebop. You both are a few years older than I. Bebop you too are a baby face too! I feel kindred now.

@ Sundae. I found the band 'Sweet Billy Pilgrim' on my space and I am adding them to my music box page there. I really like their sound very much and what an interesting story! Maybe you could make a myspace page and tell him you miss him. * ah amore`*

@ bebop.

I enjoyed this song so much! Thank you. I have the band WOLF on my amazon wish list although I probably will never be able to afford such a price for one great single. Most of the time singles are available but not for that c/d album. It is nice that you tube presents them in this format so thanks again.

Also I found this site. It has Darryl Way preforming violin masterpieces which I am very much interested in. I thought you would be too. You might have already known but just in case here is the url.

Thanks for sharing everyone
