I have an older brother (a year and a half older.) He's awesome and he's my rock. He's successful and funny and good-hearted.
I have a younger brother (eight years younger.) He's awesome too. My older brother and I doted on him. He would write me letters, with pictures he'd drawn all over them, when I went away to college. He's successful and funny and good-hearted. They both have amazing wives and kids and great lives. They're both good-looking. They're smart. They're heeeeeeelarious. I told my 'rents: if I'm the worst one you got you didn't do too badly. ![]() (Never ask about my family unless you really want to hear, I'm always glad to boast them up.) ![]() |

Two brothers - 2.5 years younger than I am. One serves in the Army, the other travels a lot for work, inspecting power infrastructure. Not really 'close' to either of them - am more close to my brother in law and sister in law.

A Big Brother 6 years older than me and a fundamental part of what made me the person I am. Clever, calm, wise, artistic and uber capable at anything he tries, brave, good looking, and funny.
He dropped out of education after a year of doing art at college and went off to work in the real world. factory work, building site jobs, through to an apprenticeship as a joiner and plasterer, basic carpentry and design, then off to sell partitioning contracts for a large partitions firm. Went and studied Neuro Linguistic Programming and qualified as a counsellor, started up a little design house (with my ex) for counter culture products and designed for that for 10 years. Now he has his ideal job: self-employed, landscape garden design and dry stone walling :P Outdoors, works with his hands, gets to use his designer brain. He's quite ike my dad in that way. Dad was an inveterate tinkerer. Loved nothing more than a technical problem to solve, or a broken thing to fix. Ingenius lash-ups and fixes to boggle the mind. And it means he can work his jobs around the school day and school holidays and allow my Sister in Law to pursue her nursing career where ever it takes her. Though he left education after high-school, he has never stopped learning. He reads, constantly. Fascinated by scientic stuff, the natural world, and particle physics, you name it, he's got a handle on current theories as much as a layman can from the books available. And from his time as a counsellor he's retained an interest in neuro science and development. A genuine auto-didact. Oh yeah, and he used to be really into the club scene, and still, now and then if a dj he knows is doing a set he and his mates will have a boys night out. He is and has always been a fucking kick ass dancer. He's also very well trained in some martial arts, and has a martial artist's physique and grace of movement: lean but solid muscle. He's one of my favourite people in all the world *smiles* and he lives at the bottom of the lane, down the hill from my house. In fact, he's why I ended up living in Yorkshire in the first place. It was visiting his house after he moved here, that got me and J interested in moving. Aside from a brief spell of a couple of years whne we were each off doing our own things and weren't much in contact, we've always had a close relationship. He was my babysitter, co-conspirator and mentor in mischief and fun. When I was a tot and had to soak for 15 full minutes in a bath of some eczema remedy or other, it was often Martin who sat and told me ghost stories to keep me from getting too bored. It was Martin who woke me up in the early hours of Christmas Day to assure me he had definately heard sleighbells and hooves on the roof, and ushering me to the window to see if we could spy anything. And it was Martin who came up with wild and wonderful practical jokes and fancy dress costumes. Bless him he (and his mates) was endlessly patient with his baby sister. Not to say we never fought, because we did. Not to say he didn't sometimes wind me up to the point of tears, because he did. But to be fair I did also once wreck his Evil Knieval action figure by playing with it in a bath with oil in it. And I did go through a brief phase of ransacking his bookshelves and then writing in his books...

Well, biologically, I'm the fourth of five.
Three older (2 boys (one deceased (crib death)) and one sister) from one father, then me (from a different father), and one younger (once again from a different father). My sister is the only one I talk to. The oldest has never met me. And the youngest doesn't want to. Adopted-wise, I'm the youngest of eight. Four and four. The oldest is a defrocked Catholic priest who tried to molest me when I was young, the next is an aunt who might not be all there, followed by an aunt who hates everyone in the family, then my biological mother (who refuses to even acknowledge my existence) , then an uncle who thinks he's the wise-ass of the family. Next father gives us an uncle who converted to Judaism. (That's gotta be some mean pussy make a man change gods like that.) And the last father brings us to an aunt who decided that since I wouldn't leave Freemasonry to join the Jehovahs Witnesses, I was banned from any contact with "her" family. And people wonder why I'm antisocial...

Younger brother by 3.5 years. We get along, somewhat. Small doses.
Always envious of friends who had sisters. Though, they use to tell me they would trade me in a heartbeat. |

I have two older brothers and one younger. I didn't have a sister to share or fight with and I always wondered if I missed out on anything essential. I do find it easier to get along with men than women.
We all get along pretty much, maybe not really close, but no friction either. When we get together it is usually a good time...we love to play games and talk (and drink ![]() We are an older bunch - 55, 53. 49. and 45. No one is really successful, but we are pretty happy working class stiffs, I think. We are all married, but so far, only Andy has children - two sons in college. Neil has a young wife and they just bought a house, so hopefully another niece or nephew to dote over will be in my future. (I'm really hoping for a girl - I mean come on, there's enough boys in this family!) Although I love all three of my brothers, its easier for me to spend time with my younger brother, Neil. |

I have one brother, two years older than me. I am perhaps moderately cool, whereas he is #$%@ing awesome. He's a firefighter for a living and drives racing cars for a hobby (and is pretty darn good at it, but not professional).
We're in occasional contact, reasonably friendly, but not really close. Quote:

2of4 here. Two guys, two gals, I'm the oldest male and am entitled to all the rights and privileges pursuant. I guess I'm still waiting on that one.
![]() Older sister is the social one and the organizer of family stuff, which put her in conflict with little sister regarding my Dad's health issues and estate. They seem better of late, older sis is living her suburban dream: soccer, gymnastics, and cocktails with the neighbors. She has Dad in her home about half the time, keeping his meds regulated and running him to doctor appointments. It can a burden, but she does embrace her role. If / when Dad gets worse we're going to have to make sure she lets go. Little sis is an intensely devout Catholic, but hasn't let it interfere with our relationship. At home Mom, great kids, country dweller, and highly disorganized. Her perceptions are sometimes impacted by her emotion based thought processes, which kind of fits her spiritual side. She sometimes leaks anger over things I thought were over but she has been using as some kind of spiritual burden. Little brother was a bit of a world traveler, much more intellectual than the rest of us, a great smoozer, he can match persona to situation better than anyone I know. He is teaching English but has a degree in law. He contracted Lyme's disease and is suffering pretty badly. Married/ no kids. Funny SOB.

I've 2 sisters - one older (by 8 years) and one younger by five years. My older sis is my best friend, my rock, my twin soul but my better soul. She's been a pediatric nurse forever and now is teaching the next generation of nurses - she's pursuing her PhD. She's uber-intelligent, funny, good-hearted, creative, a crazed animal-lover (she sends money to PETA. When I pointed out that PETA was crazy, she said she was glad they were crazy as people who abused animals were crazy, too, and PETA just evened out the universe) (Oh, she DOES eat meat. Definitely!) She's married with three grown kids - one of whom was adopted from Guatemala. She is the 'successful' one with a beautiful house and many vacations a year. If it weren't for her I would never go anywhere. she's taken me to Key West, NOLA, Myrtle Beach, Cape Cod and Maine. She LOVES a road trip and is good at planning them. She is compassionate and patient. I probably wouldn't be here if not for her and her support.
Little sis smokes so much dope I swear she's Jamaican. We aren't very close though she lives just up the road. Her hubby is a strange bird - very anti-social; never speaks, won't answer the phone, won't answer the doorbell...he hides whenever we (his in-laws) comes over. I think he's schizotypal. She is smart and funny but provincial. She has surrounded herself with idiots so she thinks she's the smartest person in any room; which she very well may be BUT when you surround yourself with idiots...that's easy. We are rather estranged. She has four kids - two of which have neuro problems that I think are completely related to her intake of substances while she was pregnant. this girl smokes a whopping boatload of dope. She works, too, but her job of 10 years will be cut next year. Her husband delivers newspapers. They teeter on the edge.
