December 31, 2013 -What The Puck?

Tomorrow, the University of Michigan will host the NHL "Winter Classic" in The Big House -its massive stadium in Ann Arbor. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Redwings will battle it out on a purpose built outdoor ice rink in the middle of the football field before a crowd of over 100,000.

To honor this, Ann Arbor has decided to see in the new year by dropping an enormous illuminated puck in the center of downtown, a la Ball in Times Square. here it is, in the final stages of construction.
