Tragedy in Glasgow

I should have posted this yesterday, really. It was all over the news. Just awful.

Quote:
Six people have been killed and eight others injured after an out-of-control bin lorry crashed into pedestrians in central Glasgow.

Police said the bin lorry was travelling north on Queen Street, outside the Gallery of Modern Art, when "it was in a collision with a pedestrian".

It then continued north on Queen Street, mounted the pavement and struck a number of other pedestrians, before crashing into the Millennium Hotel at George Square. The square is the scene of Glasgow's annual Christmas festival.
The square was full of people. All shopping and enjoying the Christmas atmosphere.

Some reoprts are suggesting that three of the dead were from one family.

Mr Limes and I travelled past that very spot on Friday and Saturday. A party of our local schoolchildren had visited George Square for the skating the day before the accident. Reportedly a local family had to run for their lives and witnessed the awful tragedy unfold.
